Should we make hyper realistic avatars or more cartoon style? There are different types of avatars, depending on their quality and body characteristics. On the one hand, there are cartoon avatars and on the other, photorealistic avatars. Photorealistic avatars are considered state-of-the-art technology and offer a more realistic representation of ourselves in the virtual world, with facial expressions that make them more human-like. The use of realistic avatars in the #metaverse, augmented reality and virtual reality will become increasingly important in the future. The more realistic an avatar looks, the more immersive the virtual world will be. Research has shown that avatars with gestures and facial expressions are more appealing to users. The problem is that the more realistic avatars are, the more hardware they require and the worse the experience will be for "normal" (non-gamer) users. A good part of the metaverse market is B2B and companies do not have adequate devices. On the other hand VR glasses that are more successful are wireless and they are very limited in GPU power. Where is the balance? https://lnkd.in/g5keDcre
